We’re hiring experienced hospitality professionals
Here’s an overly long job description in small text that should answer some or all of your questions.
Are you a career hospitality worker? Are you looking to work in management and upskill? Climb the ladder, if you will? We're hiring a few lovely, proactive, leadership oriented, team-building, coffee grinding, shot pulling, many milks foaming, makers of many, many, cups of happiness to join our crew. If you're reading this, then maybe that’ll be you.
We open between 7 - 8am (depending on location), close between 3 - 4:30pm and sell lots of food, drinks, and coffee in between. We're here 7 days a week, serving satisfaction to lovely people, office workers, students, ballet dancers, gymmies, DJs, mums, dads, entrepren/entripe/entrapre - yo pros on laptops...and occasionally even a few of those cliche ironic Wellington hipster types.
Should we mention we make damn good doughnuts, delicious pastries, and satiating sammies?
If you want to make a name for yourself in a role that'll grow with the company, then this'll be a position to take a good look at. Ditch the office job and come work with a cool bunch of peeps in an enjoyable environment. We offer ongoing training & development and plenty of hospo career progression opportunities, as against all odds we're still growing up and out.
Pay rate is good, (it’s even better for the outstanding peeps), and the real perks are that lunch is on the house each day, the coffee is endless, and the smiles are free...FREE!
Who do you need to be??
We need experienced hospitality workers who looking to work into a position of responsibility; You’re good under pressure, you’re attentive to the small stuff, and you ready to work for a kind, team-oriented, family-run business that wants to see you grow with us. You'll need to be skilled in the cafe basics: work a coffee machine, able to charm the pants off almost anyone, and always down to get stuck in and get the less glamorous parts of the job done with no fuss.
If this is you, then please keep reading as you’ll need to be passionate and able to become competent in the following:
Coffee, and decaf, (which is kind of like coffee, but not). Able to fully engage with customers while making said coffee, or decaf, or tea, (which is another thing altogether). We have our own special way of doing things and offer plenty of training, but you'll need to get that it's not 'just a cup of coffee.'
Customer Service - Are you a people person? Do you enjoy a yarn with every Tom, Dick and Penelope while serving up tasty brews and orgasmic eats? Can you keep a smile on your dial while putting together order, after order, after order, after order, after order, after order? Always happy to serve one more hungry homie?
Ability to Effectively Multitask - Are you great with time, problem solving and happy and able to get the necessary jobs done without fuss? A master at mastering the skills to pay the bills? After all, the panini press doesn't run itself, (well it kind of does, but you get the drift). Some things need to be done just right, while you're also doing many other things just right.
If you've read to the end of this, top stuff, and so, in summation, if you're actually awesome, outgoing, lively, happy to be on the grind and a bit of a coffee nerd/perfectionist then drop us an email - food@sixes.co.nz or better yet walk your lovely self inside and say hello!
